Candida's Story
Life
****New Job Update on the way****
After graduation I went to Texas Tech, pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and competed in the Miss Texas Pageant. I won swimsuit, talent and interview awards.
Next I did one of the first commercials for Pizza Hut's stuffed crust Pizza.
Recently I was invited to join the Links,Inc. Of course you all know how I am, I'm now Vice President of my Links Chapter.
After writing for the Southwest Digest newspaper, and a brief stint as a radio DJ, I got a job working at KAMC-TV in Lubbock as a reporter. From there I got an anchor job in Amarillo at KFDA-TV. I worked in Amarillo for about two years, until I got a job in Dallas at WFAA-TV as a professional news writer.
After writing for the number one ABC affiliate in the country, I worked at KWTX-TV in Wacko...I mean Waco, TX. Boy I must admit it was a long dry spell.
My show was the number one rated newscast in the area, reaching half a million viewers. I anchored the 6 and 10pm news, and did special reports.
From there I got my big break as an on-air talent for "Good Day Sacramento"
The most important aspect in my life is my close relationship with God. I attend an awesome church and find spiritual food very satisfying.

Tal lives in New York. She's a professional ballet dancer, and will be touring Europe. She's 18 now. ****UPDATE****
Tal is staring in "Pearl" a show put on by Debbie Allen in Los Angeles. Of course she's "Pearl". She's staying at Debbie Allen's house and learning the role for the show that runs from Nov. 12-Dec. 22.
My parents are proud and thrilled but not too happy about having to go coast to coast to visit us.
And for those of you who remember the tiny baby I hauled around in high school, my niece is now 15 and a cheerleader in high school in Lubbock.
When I'm not working or at church, I'm attending flight school or hanging out with my Fiance' Michael.
School
Thank God I'm out of the South. For those with big dreams it was a real disadvantage.
Workplace
I had not planned on leaving Texas, so imagine my surprise when a big market television station rang my phone?
I went to the job interview and landed the job! I'm the station's only full-time "hard-news" reporter. It's the best work environment I've ever been a part of. I work with mature professionals who love what they do. I feel blessed to have such a wonder opportunity, so early on in my career. I went from television market 98 to market 19. My career is moving along faster than I planned.
