Well, we tried a 40th reunion last year, but only a total of 4 of us showed up, and not all at the same time. Donna Riske Marhal organized it. I showed up at the park where it was being held, along with Sharon Traber Paschke. We visited for awhile, then Sharon had to leave. When Donna and I were thinking about giving up, Steven DuFrame showed up with his wife and son. That was the 40th reunion of the class of 1971. Donna said she's going to keep trying to get a bigger group together, but meantime there's the get together at State Fair where other years can show up too. I plan on going to that one to see what it's like (I guess it takes place yearly), and have found out 2 peo...Expand for more
ple from my class that I have wondering about will be there, so that's another reason to go.
My younger nephew and his family live in CO. and were among the ones to get evacuated from their home. They stayed with a guy he works with and were grateful for the hospitality despite the fact that they were basically strangers. They got to go back home the other day and their neighborhood was untouched and their house didn't even smell smoky, so that's good news.
Am looking forward to having this next week off, still wishing I could retire. It's a good thing I like my job enough so at least it's tolerable, but it sure would be nice not to have to get up early 5 days a week. Oh well....
