Carl's Story
Life
After graduation went in the marines for three years Then worked in construction (carpenter) for about 15 years. Got a degree at Cal State L.A. (night classes, took me 11 years to get a 4 year degree) and ended up teaching for about 10 years (english and then history) 6 years in Japan and 4 years L.A. unified (El Sereno Middle School)Got a two year teaching credential, again at Cal State L.A. (That took me about 4 years of night classes) Took a leave of absence from L.A. unified to deal with family problems and have been ruining my own business dealing in Japanese antiques and furniture for about 6 years now (teaching in L.A. and selling antiques were concurrent) Through all of this I spent about 8 years working and traveling through other countries, mostly Asia (I once met a Franklin graduate...Expand for more
, I forgot what year and his name, on the top of a temple in Pagan, in the middle of Burma) Built my house in Montecito Heights in 1990-91 (Only way I could afford a decent house) Got married about four years ago. She is Japanese from Nagoya and works for a Japanese trading company in Downtown L.A. and have had the same 1964 Harley Panhead since 1979. (three rebuilds) As to this reunion: I only went to Franklin for my last year of High School (went to three high schools) and couldn't wait to leave. (High School and L.A.) Consequently, as I wasn't very sociable when I was there I don't anticipate knowing very many people at this reunion, if any, but out of curiousity will show up and see what happens. Don't have a year book and if anybody still has theirs I would appreciate if I could look through it.
