Carla's Story
Hey there. I left Michigan in 1990 and have only returned a handful of times to visit family and friends. I currently live in Ferndale, Washington, about 10 miles south of the Canadian Border. I've been married to Russell Dunn for almost 30 years now, and have three children, two still at home and one granddaughter. For almost 20 years I taught and/or consulted in Early Childhood Education for the local colleges. I finally "retired" from that to work with my husband in our business Piper Profiles Inc. Nothing too exciting, but it's ours, and allows me the freedom to be involved in my children's lives.
Piper is entering her senior year, and is very active in the Sport Medicine Program at school and throughout the state. She's been a state officer for the last three years, and is required to travel throughout the state for that and I end up tagging along as a chaperone. Great g...Expand for more
roup of kids, and profession to follow. Thanks to her I've been able to visit the Seahawks and WSU sports facilities. Much better field trips than we used to take :)
Madoc is my youngest and will be entering his freshman year. He has been riding anything and everything since he was two. and has been riding motor cross competitively since he was 7 or 8. Although I love the sport I typically let his dad "chaperone" the long distance races. However we have 15 acres so over the last decade they have built and groomed a course on our property. During the riding season there isn't a day/week that goes by that we're not hosting riding "parties". As they say I'd rather have them home so I know what they're doing.
Who knew that at this age/stage of life I would still be parenting? Keeps me busy, and crazy. Love it, but looking forward to my mini break for the reunion. See you there.
