For about seven years after I graduated from college, I sang professionally and wrote music in Houston and the San Francisco Bay area. I earnestly pursued a record contract, but finally realized that I wasn't wired for that kind of lifestyle. I did a bit of traveling to the UK, Israel, Malaysia, Canada, Mexico. I went back to Colorado, worked awhile and finally met Danny, my husband. He's also a musician and we've been playing and singing together for over 23 years. I stayed at home during my son's school years to homeschool him. Now we are financially contributing towards his education. Chronic migraines prevent me from holding down a job, but I'm still reinventing myself by learning how to paint and draw. I've discovered that I love writing, and it keeps me pretty busy. I'm about to finish the first draft of my first novel. I don't really care about chasing after an agent, publisher, etc. I never did like deadline crunches.
