Life My husband, Rick Harrison, and I live in Upland with our daughter, Cali, born in 1997. We had dated back at C.O.D. right after high school, then eventually went our own ways. He called me out of the blue 20 years later, in 1995, and we married later that year. So, late-bloomer that I was, I became a mom at age 41. Even back at IHS, I always loved to write and so I made it my career, working as a newspaper reporter and later editor since graduation from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1978 with a degree in journalism. (I took a break from newspapers in 1995 to work in Arkansas in the media dept. of the state forestry commission.) I've worked in Calif. and spent 7 1/2 years in New York. I really loved all the big trees there, the fall colors and the snow. The SEASONS on the East Coast were such a refreshing treat after all those palm trees in the desert.
