I'm a Captain for the Houston Fire Department. I work at Station 74 which covers our old stomping grounds of Aldine, Greenspoint and it's surrounding neighborhoods. Before my promotion, I drove Engine 67 which is in the heart of Acres Homes in north Houston. Before that I spent eight years working as a firefighter/emt at station 31 on the north side of town on Crosstimbers and Old Yale. This was a pretty busy station. art in many fire and EMS rescues. In 1997 I was awarded a Medal of Merit and nominated for Firefighter of the Year for rescuing a young boy and an elderly man in two seperate fires. I was promoted to Engineer/Operator in 2001 and drove an ambulance for 3 1/2 years before getting assigned to a fire truck, which I drove for a year and a half before getting promoted to Captain in 2005. I also teach CPR, AED and First Aid to local companies to help them establish emergency response teams.
