Carlos's Story

New Orleans native Supper Producer Carlos Stephens is one of Hip-Hop¿s best-kept secrets. He has written, produced, arranged, and engineered for some of the most well-known artists in Hip-Hop to date.In 1994 music and business mogul, Master P took notice to Carlos while working out of his recording studio spiral records, and then offered him a position in the upstart production team Beats By The Pound where they would go on to sell a record breaking 46 million albums in five years. Establishing him self as a major player in the No limit Family. Carlos was the only producer in beats by the pound who also had a distribution deal with no limit records, and that allowed him to release his first artist in 1986 Skull Duggrey and in 1998 The Ghetto Commission. Hard work brought him the 1998 nomination for Producer of the Year, and collectively being voted as one of Hip-Hop¿s ¿Thirty Most Powerful People¿ by The Source magazine. In 1999 after the departure of fellow Beats By The Pound production mates, Carlos became the primary force behind the production for No Limit Records. Where he continued the tradition of the gold and platinum albums. He started with Master P¿s gold selling album Only God Can Judge Me, and the tittle song for the Major motion Picture ¿Light it Up¿. Off course not to forget his production on the soundtrack to HBO¿s critically acclaimed show Oz.The millennium brought more good fortune with the introduction of the 504 Boys And Carlos¿ production of their debut, self-tilted platinum album, with the lead Single ¿wobble wobble ,¿ going Platinum Following this with the success of Master P¿s Gold + album Ghetto Postage with its smash Platinum hit ¿Bout Dat.¿ Carlos¿ stamp is on Lil Romeo¿s ¿My Baby,¿ single that not only went platinum, but also staye...Expand for more
d at number 1 on the Billboard charts for 10 weeks straight. The song ¿My Baby¿ was also the 2001 Billboard Single of the year. In 2002 Carlos began working with a partnership program for¿Prodikeys¿ a Creative Labs product who can be found on NASDAQ. In 2003 he took a year off to relax and focus on his next set of endeavors. In 2004 and 2005 Carlos jumped back into production mode and laced B.G. with the underground anthem ¿right now¿ for the album Life After Cash Money, and C-Murder album ¿The Realist Sh_t I Every Said.¿In 2006 He also started a couple new business ventures. One with partner Gary Murray founder of Wise Technologies. The new company is called Mixcast Networks (formally OOH! t v) Mixcast is a strategic, development and content accusation and distribution firm with a wi-fi component, that reaches malls, airports, travel plazas and marinas. Carlos is now the Executive Vice President heads up the business development team. Most recently Carlos has be focusing on his consulting, and entertainment company Flame Entertainment. He has assembled a new production team named The House Of Noise, and His artist are in the studio finishing up there projects, for distribution threw UMG. On the consulting side Carlos has a few select companies that he has chosen to work with and his sole focus is on branding, and creating strategic alliances between the companies in unconventional ways to expand the products awareness. Carlos has also tossed his hat into the director¿s chair with his debut video ¿Be Fresh¿ for C-Murder¿s album Screamin 4 Vengeance. He is also in the process of developing Tv shows with Emmy award winning Tv producer Tracey Slates. Mr. Stephens is a prime example of the Indomitable Sprit, of true entrepenurers and his future looks very bright.
