Carmen 'Dianne"'s Story

Dianne was born in Nashville, Tennessee and her parents moved to Little Rock, Arkansas when she was in the 3rd grade. Dianne moved to Tarzana, California in 1982. Dianne's schools include University of Arkansas at Little Rock (Fine Art). Dianne later attended Los Angeles Pierce College (Business Marketing) and Crafton Hills College (Computer Science) . Dianne works at Keller Williams Realty-Redlands and Burgess Leighton & Associates. "I went to the most beautiful high school in the world - Little Rock Central High School! My one regret is that I wanted to go to UCLA and study architecture but never did - I was afraid I wasn't smart enough. I did study architecture to some degree at UALR and Pulaski County Vocational/Technical School (Architectural Drawing classes) and fell in love with Frank Lloyd Wright's designs. He was always my hero! One of my first jobs was as a draftswoman for Benham Blair and Affiliates and I also worked for an architectural firm in Memphis for a short period of time between my transition from Arkansas to California. I had started a family and my career dreams faded into the background. Life 3 children : 2 sons and 1 daughter - James, Shawn, Chad 4 grandchildren: 3 boys....Nickolus, Erik, Tyler and one girl... Amanda Five great-grand children: Blake, Jetta, Linkin, Macie and Carson James. Single and living happily in sunny Southern California. Everyday is like waking up in paradise. When I was in school I always liked the younger guys..usually 1 or 2 grades behind me. My favorite teacher was my 10th grade Geometry teacher, Mrs. Reiman. I didn't do too well in her class, but I really liked her a lot. My favorite people were Michelle Barkley...she was beautiful, nice and smart. Darrell Ward...a great athlete, super intelligent, and a really nice person. Being somewhat of an introvert I never really got to know them, I just admired them from afar. I did name my daughter, Shawn Michelle, who turned out to be quite beautiful also. I was always a tomboy and wanted to be a great athlete - not a dainty girl athlete, but a strong athlete like the women of today, the 2000s - thus my admiration of Darrell Ward, a great athlete - and he was super smart as well. College University of Arkansas at Little Rock - Bachelor of Fine Arts - My drawing instructor told me I drew and painted like Van Gogh. I cried because I thought he was telling me that I was crazy. When he asked me why I was crying, I told I though he was telling me he though I was insane like Van Gogh. I think he then decided I might be a little crazy. Is that crazy or what? Los Angeles Pierce College - Woodland Hills, CA Kaye Simon - my great friend from Belize now married and living in St. Thomas....Expand for more
I miss you!!!! Jim Burry was the best teacher I ever had!!! Crafton Hills College - Yucaipa, CA My crazy lab partners: James and William...drove me nuts, but taught me to not take life so seriously...how did they ever pass a test???? Workplace The Coca-Cola Company - Lots of great memories here!!! A wonderful company to work for, especially in the early years. Many friends to this day, Judi, Kathy, Terry, John, J.T., Liz, James, Debbie. The time crunches really developed character. Some truly awesome trips and business meetings. The politics were cut-throat...that was the only bad thing. I retired from here in 2003, but went on to develop a career in real estate. Ethan Allen Carriage House - Sue Horn, my friend, Joe, Tom, Gerald, Mr. Bass, Mrs. Bass, Brian, Lucy, so many really great people here. I'm thankful that you passed through my life. Keller Williams Realty is a great, productive and fun company to work at. I learned lots from the other real estate companies that I have worked at, as well. Since I didn't develop my architectural skills to the point of Frank Lloyd Wright, I at least have worked in the real estate business and am happy doing it at my own pace. Military Thank goodness I didn't have any service here. My brother was a Vietnam vet and I love him for the service he gave to his country and for coming home all in one piece and with his sanity intact. He passed in 2013 as a result of being sprayed with Agent Orange while serving our country. Dianne's interests include Golf, Running, USC Trojans, LA Lakers, Any team that Pete Carroll coaches, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, a true Peyton Manning fan, Tiger Woods, Mark Sanchez. Music: Dianne's likes include 30 Seconds to Mars, Maroon 5, Pharrell, Usher, Guns N' Roses, Adele. Books: Dianne's likes include The Fifth Witness, Where the Sidewalk Ends, Shel Silverstein. Movies: Dianne's likes include Les Miserables, The Deer Hunter, The Aftershock Survival Summit, Capitalism, A Love Story. TV shows Dianne likes include Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad, Flipping Vegas. almost anything on HGTV. One of Dianne's favorite quotes is: "Challenges are what makes life interesting and overcoming them is what makes makes life meaningful." More about Dianne:"I love my family. My grandchildren and great-grandchildren are the sunlight in my life. I love the outdoors and most all outdoor sports! That's the biggest reason I live in Southern California!." I love a challenge and I love architecture and real estate - especially commercial real estate. But the thing I love most of all is CHOCOLATE - almost as much as my grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I've had a great life, I wasn't very successful as a wife, but I had wonderful parents, brothers and sisters, beautiful and successful children with great hearts whom have gifted me with the most wonderful grandchildren and now great-grandchildren that a person could ask for. Thank you Jesus for my wonderful blessings!
