Carmen's Story
Life
Hmmmm... the typical bio entry. I'm married (over 20 years) to my college sweetheart. We have 2 beautiful daughters!! Have been very blessed to have our home in a peaceful, scenic little town, near Seattle.
We love to travel - I hope to see at least 100 major US cities, and one country in every continent! And of course, return to Hawaii every year.
I have been very fortunate to be a "stay home/soccer/dance/mom" since my younger daughter entered Elementary school. My "free time" has given us the flexibility to go on spontaneous travel and allows for extended period. It also has given me the "right" to chaperone and volunteer for all of my girls school activities (sometimes being the "taxi driver" for the girls and their friends have its rewards!) Nope, sleeping in a Teepee during the northwest spring (rain!!!) is not one of my favorite activities, nor being in a cabin with 12 girls for 4 nights -- but being able to participate in their learning process was worth the sleepless nights.
Now that my daughters are becoming more independant, and my husband doing more international traveling (again), I find myself busy doing simple things like gardening, reading, knitting or walking my dogs. I also have a regular meeting time to fellowship with ladies in our church. And of course, I love to meet my girlfriends for coffee or lunch and a little walk.
I am looking forward to being able to touch more lives in our area and beyond.. my family and I have been faithfully serving the homeless community in Seattle. We participate in ministry work locally and (within our means) internationally. My goal is to be able to travel to one of the countri...Expand for more
es in need of God's presence and share His love.. by helping with medical, agricultural or spiritual healing. I will go and care for the sick, plant a garden, help build a house, or teach the children. We'll see how and when God moves me to serve Him globally.
In the meantime, I am also excited to have the opportunity to reconnect with many of my friends and classmates. I have been very fortunate to see and "hang out" with some very special friends from Hawaii.. we have been growing old together, experiencing life in various heights; from our weddings, the birth of our children, various achievements of our children along the way, some heartaches and the healing. I am thankful that my friends (you know who you are.. Minza, Sherry, Sandi, Leona.. and now the Searider gang) have remained a constant in my life. I hope to see more of each of you!!!
By the way, my hobbies include photography (my children can show you boxes of their photos all over my house and on line albums) - so finding me in front of the lense is very rare! I do hope you -- my Waianae High School family will take the time to contact me. I'd love to hear from you. If you are anywhere in Washington, call me.. lets do coffe or lunch. If you are in other parts of the country or anywhere in this planet.. that's ok too, contact me anyway, I might just be in your piece of the world some day. I wish everyone great health, peace and love. Aloha, Carmen
P.S. my new profile photo was taken in Spain (enjoying a little sangria ;-) on a recent trip with my youngest, now high schooler.
Soon you will be finding me at high school games, since I have to be one of the cheer moms!!
