Carmen's Story
Life
Well, I've grown up a lot since High School. I bet you were worried about me. In 90-92, I went to college and had a 4.0 average. Went back and got a certificate of prof. in accounting, and now I have a 3.88 average. That's okay!!! I worked as the director of a nursing agency for 9 years, and went on to have 13 years experience with payroll, AP, AR and billing, so I thought I'd go to school for it.
My husband, Keith, and I have 3 boys, ages 20, 19, and 15. My oldest, Jesse, took his ASVAB test for the Military yesterday and passed with flying colors - he's going into the Air Force Reserves. Timothy graduated and is going into HVAC. Preston is 15 and at John Tyler High.
For three years now, I've worked the front desk at a real estate company 8-5 M-F, am on-call for a staffing agency 2 nights on weekends, and do custom sewing and calligraphy for weddings and special occasions. When did I become a workaholic?

ch as possible. My family and friends are also very giving of their time and resources.
We attend the Church of Christ in Bullard, and I truly believe that God led me in the direction I needed to go. I know that I was laid off 4 years ago for a reason (that was to benefit my family and so that my faith could grow) - to show me that I was not in control of my life.
I have around seven poems published, and some are available on poetry.com. Different circumstances and events in the life of myself or others around me prompted most of those writings.
I wouldn't want to relive my school years, and yet they were the most simple times in my life. Remember when our teachers told us we were the loudest class they ever had? My night class instructor said the same thing! : )
I always wanted to be a single girl with no kids when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a - well, I'm not sure what they thought of the idea idea. As it turns out, I had two wonderful kids and a husband and I wouldn't trade any of that for anything in the world.
