Lourdes's Story
What can I say about me,
I don't think that many people will remember me, I was not very popular, did not have many friends, I did belong to a couple of clubs and ran track in my senior because I ran out of classes to take. I could have graduated in 3 yrs but I chose not to. My life since high school has been a world-wind trip. I made some mistakes but for the most part I think I did ok. After graduation I joined the military(ARMY) and spent two years in Alabama and from there I had the opportunity to travel to Europe. I spent 4yrs in Germany and there I met the man I thought would be my partner forever and a day. He was the love of my life and I let him go but now that I think about it, I think that he did not fight hard enough for me. His name was Ronald G. were both deployed to Desert Storm, which I believe put more strain on the relationship. We returned to Germany after 6months in Saudi Arabia and we went our separate ways, he to Texas and I to California. I started college and he started working and it was never the same. Then one day he writes me a dear Mary(like Dear John) letter but it was actually on a post-it or was it one of the miniature writing tablets telling me that he had found someone else. It broke my heart onto a million pieces but I picked myself up and got my degree and have been working ever since. So that has been my life since graduating from El Monte High School in 1985. Eventhough he hurt me so much, I feel in my heart that I will always love him. I know he now has a family and I am happy for him but I can't stop thinking of what could have been.......................
