Carol's Story

If you don't remember me, or are confused with the many last name changes, this is who I am. I started out Heckathorn, then Alam in 8th grade, Nelms in 11th, back to Alam - I think, or did I keep Nelms? Guess I don't remember. Got married in Sep 1988, became Carol Cady (many remember me cuz of that silly hurricane in Cancun) I remarried June 2000 to my Paulie who calls me Carrie, my childhood nickname. Oh and somewhere along the line I met my birthfather, I am a true Norwegian Jamsgard at heart. I am Me, MeCarol, MeCarrie, SistaMe, AuntieMe, CuzMe, MomMe and only YourMe to Paulie. Just Me. Notice I don't say "CarrieMe" nobody has done that for awhile! I was pretty quiet in school. I hung out with Sheli' Jensen Mia - I am so glad she snagged Mike again. Vickie Jones, Sue Mitchell, Loretta Gomes, Marleen Brower, of course Tucker Clawson, my friend for years. I spent a lot of time with the youth of my church. I was like the wallflower, watching everyone pass by, of course at times getting a really good laugh watching all of you.. Oh - it asks "what was the wildest thing you ever did in school¿ I would say Bill and I allowing my mom to force us to be married! And it wasn't for the reason everyone thought! The BIGGEST LOOSER thing I have done lately?...I didn't realize until last week that it has been 25 years! Now I see the party was in Aug. Ok Sheli - you knew were I was!! In the fall of 1982 I started working with Marysville Special Olympics with Brett Werner or was is Warner?. I coached Volleyball, Basketball and Track for 9months a year, for 9years. I loved it. I enjoyed working in the Marysville School District with the developmental disabled. I had the chance...Expand for more
to work with many of our teachers and support staff. I know several of you are teachers now, weird to go back into that world on a different level. Do you'all remember "chicken legs¿ I won't say her name just in case, I love her lit class. I¿ve met her many times throughout the years, what a sweet enduring person - I don't think many of us thought that during our time at Cow Pie High. Did you notice you can't search for that? I have a pretty messed up memory now, but I do remember many moments of k-12. Oooh like the Grad party, I was in the pool and something large fell from the sky...hhmm who was it? My dumb memory. One came down and one stayed up..please remind me I am happy, live in beautiful San Antonio. Was blessed to adopt our amazing son Scott, 15yrs and know that I will be spending the rest of my life in the arms of my Paulie. The thing I would like to achieve, or the knowledge I still yearn for; Who realized the tips and heart were the best part of it and where did the get the word Artichoke. I am sure all of you have struggled with this for years. And no, I don't think Art choked on the green fuzzy hair. I babble, bounce from different subjects during the same sentence. Like a rubber ball bouncing. I tend to talk and write in way to much detail. I have a terrible habit of interrupting. Something I am working on. Although I embarrass my son continually because I enjoy visiting with strangers about little things. I will walk by somebody and tell them I like their shoes, hair ect, I keep on walking by, I know I like to feel good about myself so I should share that with others. I guess I will see you all in what....how many years until the next reunion?
