Carol's Story
Life
I remarried 04-04-04....a Texas girl and a surfer! I have 3 grown children ...all married and this gives me 11 beautiful little ones to send home at the end of the day, they are from 34 down to11. I retired in June of 2001 from (my passion) Photography...so now I just take it easy and I do a little free-lance work some time. Jim served in the navy and attended USC & Art Center in LA. WE both moved to Vegas in 1998 and loved it....didn't want to leave until things got so bad with the employment in Vegas and all over. We moved back to Texas to retire. Jim loves it here and I have Texas in my blood.
We have started our own graphic design company.......looks good for now. I hope it continues.
Jim is also driving a school bus part time...I drove 15 years and loved it so he says "he never had kids, so now GOD has given him 42 to care for". We are raising and breeding chihuahuas...full blood but not AKC registered, However, the father and mother were Continental registered...however they still go for $150.oo each and we have been told that is too little for a good pup. We now get $300 plus. I am recovering from my open heart surgery. We were in Houston, Oct of 2012 for the 'get-together' and had so much fun. Thanks to friends it was a trip worth taking. A special thanks to Judy C. & Judy J. for putting up with us and my little babies because they were with us.
As for school, I have a feeling very few people will remember Carol Baize ... but a lot, and I do mean a lot of you will remember the crazy girl with the camera from the photography lab....always taking a picture of something. At football games, pep rallies, club meetings, assemblies, etc. Well photography has been with me my entire life. I even had my own studio ...about 15 years....I taught photography (basics). I have been a photographer in Texas, Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Nevada, (Las Vegas), California, and Kansas. This is beginning to sound repetitive so I'll stop now. I would love to hear from any one '63 to '67 class
Stay safe.....Carol
College
I went to Ft. Lauderdale College with my sons 25 years after the fact. I worked while in school and took care of 2 boys, it was just after my divorce. I felt lost and college helped me get in focus and stay there. I...Expand for more
have worked at many different jobs and always wind up back with a camera in my hand. Some how I always land on my feet with that darn camera. I still love a challenge, to capture the perfect expression, that special look, a mood, and some exceptional light. When I retired I was (ONCE AGAIN) a photographer, in Las Vegas. I put my college education to the test and got a job in the medical field. I worked usually in the front office, records, or billing about 10 to 12 years. While in school I drove a school bus. I enjoy being a newlywed and staying home, only working when I really want to.
Well, here it is 2021 and I am still doing a little photography and I'm back in the work force...the work is easy and only 18 hours a week, in this small town, that is a good way to get to know your nieghbors. Like I told my sons and grand-kids, you have to work hard and spend wisely, in the long run it will be worth everything. I just heard that I now have a new great-grandson ...born Dec 14,2021 ...big boy at 8 lb. 9 oz. mom and baby are fine.
Up-date OCT 2016 not working any more because of health reasons. We enjoyed 'bash 3' and still talk about it. I applied for a job at 'Jackson-Hewitt' so once again I'm in school, the good thing is I only work 4 months a year but they are rough... got to get back to the books.
Up-date: Late Spring 2018 ... where to start, one tax season was it for me...NO more...don't see how people do that every year. Some of you may know that last year 2017 I came close to losing everything, Jim lost his job and he had some league problems because of that, Jim had to go to California for family business for a while and the day after he left I fell down the stairs and re-injured my knee and broke my ankle in 3 places. I was in the hospital and rehab 8 weeks. The league stuff took him 3 months to clear up and the doctors would not release me until someone was here. I love my grandson, he dropped everything and came here (a little Texas town) to take care of me. Jim got back so now I have both of them caring for me. Jim has found another job, Andrew stays home to care for me. Doctors say maybe another year before I am back to normal.
Enough of an up-date I hope everybody is happy and healthy.
Hugs to all Carol
