Carol's Story
Life
Hi Everyone,
I currently live at the shore. I have been happily married since 1971 and we have two great kids and two wonderful granddaughters. I am a Real Estate Agent at the jersey shore. Stop and see me if you are down the shore - it would be great to see some old friends. My husband and I are very, very happy here in North Wildwood. Its a great place to retire!!!
School
I remember some things fondly but High School wasn't my favorite time - I wanted out - I wanted to go to work and make money. Some of my favorite memories were the times I spent with Lynn Clark, Roseanne Cavallaro and Louise Bocutti - when we were in classes together, someone usually got in trouble - I remember going to dances a lot, the pep rallies before the Neumann-Southern Games - I also remember saving my token money and walking to school so I could buy a pack of cigarettes!
Workplace
While working at Drexel, I had the opportunity to travel to Rome, Italy for the Cannonization of Mother Katherine Drexel. My job at Drexel was "special events" and since Mother Katherine was to become a saint, I was part of the team that put together a...Expand for more
trip for our wealthiest donors, the president of the university and his family and a few staff. We would be going to Rome to the Vatican to witness the cannonization! Imagine me, a protestant, going to Rome for one of the greatest events in Catholicism! Well, I was responsible for 32 people traveling to Rome - along with the side trips and special dinners for our VIP's. It was a once in a lifetime chance. 3 weeks before we were to leave, I fell down the steps and broke my leg and ankle - but I still went to Rome, cast and all, my only regret was that because of my cast and crutches, and the amount of rain that they were getting in Rome at the time, I couldn't go to St. Peter's Bascilica to witness the cannonization. I had to watch it on TV in ROME!!!! My husband got to go and he sat with Council President Ann Verna and her husband Sevie - we were also invited to the then US Ambassador to Rome, Tom Foglietta's villa. We met many dignitaries there and it was a truly unforgettable experience. One of many that I had while doing my job at Drexel -- the other was meeting Chuck Barris (a Drexel Alum) but that's for another time!!!
