Carol's Story
Life
After highschool, I went to SPJC and after that went to Cosmetology school. Got my license, but decided to join the Navy. After bootcamp, I went to San Diego for school and then to Greece. After Greece, I went back to San Diego for more school and then onto Germany. Was stationed in St.Pete as a recruiter and then to Antigua, Scotland, DC,and then Diego Garcia. I retired in 1995 to Jacksonville, FL since that is where my husband was going to be stationed. We stayed in Jacksonville until 2000 when we joined the State Department. Training was in Northern Virginia. From there we went to Lusaka, Zambia, then Kingston, Jamaica and are now in Yerevan, Armenia where it is extremely cold right now. have not fully decided where that will be. After this posting and the cold weather, Florida is looking better and better, but North Carolina and Northern Virginia are also on our short list. I would really like to make it to a reunion one of these decades, but I never seem to be in the States when there is one going on, nor have I ever been contacted. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Deidre Broome, Diane Bowers or Debbie Dean tell them to join Classmates. Update as of 2009. After Yerevan, Armenia we moved to Maputo, Mozambique for two years. We are know at our current posting in Sarejevo, BiH. Won't be able to make it to the reunion this year. Maybe the next one. Looking to do a Northern Virginia posting in the next 3-5 years. I am now a grandmother of a 6 month old boy. Hopefully, I will be able to meet up with some of you.
