Carol's Story
About a year after highschool. I moved to Brainerd Mn. and married a northern boy. When my Dad wanted to move to Arizona he asked Gary and me to go with them. we moved in march of 1976 to Phoenix. It was amazing. I love the southwest. My dad did not he moved back to Madison. I lived there for about 5 years, divorced Gary out there , he moved back to Mn. I stayed. One winter I came back to Madison to visit my family. My friend Kim asked me to go with her out to a small town Cambridge east of Madison to visit her relatives for the day.There I met Kim's brother in law,we fell in love, got married a year later. moved to Cambridge and farmed. After 20 years we called it quits. I have 3 children my oldest son Richard, is a produce farmer in the Cambridge area. he has been married 8 yrs to Esther she is from The UP of Michigan. I have a grandaughter, Ziva , she will be 4 in july. My second son, Duane, is a staff sargent in the Air force. he has been in the service for 7 yrs. He is stationed at Patrick AFB in Cocoa Florida. He just got married In Washington D.C. to his husband Blake. he is also in the Air Force . they as of now plan on staying in the Air Force until retirement. They are pretty much pioneers clearing a path for others that want to have an openly gay life in the military. they have support and respect from all their peers. I have a daughter ,Candace . She lives with her boyfriend, Spencer, in Lake Mills close by for me. its always...Expand for more
good to have the girl close! They has an internet business and doing well. She is my artist in the family , loves to paint and make jewelry. I have been married to Tom for about 10 years now .he also has 3 children from a previous marriage, So in the midst of all this personal stuff. I have been to all states except the northeast and the northwest. which are on my bucket list. I love to travel and see new things. I have lived in Arizona Mountains, and desert floors. I have been in the piney woods of east Texas on jobsites of seasonal tree planting for the lumber mills, with my ex husband. lived in Roanoke Rapids N.C. where the historical records of our country are very old and deep. Seen both oceans and the Gulf , vacationed San Pedro Island, Galveston, and Mustang Island in south Texas. lived in Sliver city NM and Tombstone Az. Of course wherever my son is stationed i go to. Last month Florida . cocoa beach ,Melbourne area. When he was in Idaho I did a road trip with my daughter for her highschool graduation present for 3 weeks . went to Yellowstone and all its glory.Drove through, the Big horn Mountain range when it was snowing 9000 ft, on top !Stayed in Deadwood SD , Mt Rushmore , and The Badlands. and not to forget Walldrug. but Wisconsin is my home. cant beat it really except last winter was a little tough. someday i plan on being a snowbird to the Phoenix area. My brother Bill lives there now. so I always have an excuse to visit!!!!!
