ft a tremendous void in her life and with the encouragement of her Pastor, Carol was enrolled in the Chaplaincy Program at Eisenhower Medical Center, Rancho Mirage, California. She graduated December 2007 and now serves as Chaplain at the hospital, as well as recently appointed as Coordinator of Hospital Ministry for Sacred Heart Church in Palm Desert.
Carol entered St. James College 2009 and graduated with her Professional Chaplaincy degree.
Enlightened by a sermon New Years morning 2010, Carol founded the Companions Visitation Ministry that is an outreach program for lonely senior citizens living in assisted living facilities. At present, this program has been started as far as Alaska and Indiana.
Carol hasn’t lost hope regarding playing again. Although she will not be able to play live concerts, she is looking for ways to record utilizing what movement she has left. She lives in Palm Desert, Ca. with her husband of 30+ years, Bob Zadel, and her 3 dogs, Jack Russells Piccolo Pete and Annie Oakley and Chihuahua Chimichumga.
UPDATE: I lost my husband Bob Zadel in 2019 to Leukemia. I stopped all work and cared for him. It was over so fast and then my brother, Mark Jones passed away 3 days after my husbands funeral. My daughter was living with me and she also passed in 2019. I live now in a beautiful neighborhood in La Quinta, Ca. and continue my work with senior citizens who are lonely and need attention, despite the Covid pandemic. I enjoy now my 2 white Labradors, Tasha and Lexi who are trained service dogs and (what was I thinking!) our little Jack Russell Terrier rescue Katie who rules the house. I'm blessed with many friends and lots of volunteer work. My time at NHS is still a special memory in my heart as is all of my classmates.
