Carol's Story
Hello to My Classmates of the great era of 1965. I feel we had the best group of men and women ever. Most everyone was kind and smart. When I think of today's schools, I would carry a gun, shoot, then ask questions. How about that president. It makes me go ugh!!! Not only does he screw up the health system but he wants the baby boomers to pay through the nose for HIS mistakes and to know a muslum is in the powerful seat makes me sick to my stomach.
Now that I got that out of my system, how are the classmates that I remember? I hope you are all well and happy. I wonder where all of you are? I' m not computer savy. Yes, I know, it is the thing to do, but not for me.
I still love living here in Myrtle Beach. I love that the water temperature in the summer reaches 85 degrees. I never could get use to the saying, you'll get use to the cold water. Really!! Our small community has grown to 13 families. I know, it isn't that big but, I was never into having hundreds of neighbors. Most everyone has retired that live here. There is a young couple in their 30's, and we call them our grandchildren. Another couple are in their forties. It is like living in the country in Shell Bay in Conway, S.C. We enjoy this small town. It reminds me of Meyersdale when Meyersdale was booming. We have a live theatre in town. Glenn and I are season ticket holders, and we give donations to keep this alive. The actors and actresses are extremely talented. What is most amazing is that everyone volunteer's. It is like going to Broadway in N.Y., only on a smaller scale. I have mad...Expand for more
e many friends that get my humor. I know most of the owners of the small stores, and they are really nice. I enjoy driving my Sky Saturn convertible, two seater with the top down. Compared to the metro D.C. area, the people down here are just what the doctor ordered. I was in D.C. area for 45 years. I'm so thankful that we moved here. I just could not take the attitude that the people up there have. I will never go back. Well, I have my Christmas shopping done. I' m not putting up a tree. I took all the stuff out and thought I have to take it down in 4 weeks, so I packed everything up and put it away. In 2010 I flew to Germany and took a cruise on theDanube River through Austria. It was awesome and I would recommend to anyone to try it once. There are only 150 passengers on ship. The food is amazing, the crew will do anything to make you comfortable, and it sure beats being on a ship that hold anywhere from 2,000 to 5,000 on a ship, and no open ocean. The scruise line is "Grand Circle Travels. The ships are privately owned, and the directors make sure everyone is safe, entertained, and again, the food is first class all the way. Anything I have had is delicious. I traveled to Switzerland in 2012 and did the Rhine River cruise. Let me say, I cannot say enough about how great it was. Well, I will close for now. I would love to hear from anyone, but, I know how that goes, so I don't expect much. However, I would enjoy hearing from anyone that remembers me. Have a Merry Christmas. I cannot believe it is about 2014!! love to all, Carol Ann Kemp-Mayhew
