Carol's Story
Life
I'm married to Tom Jackson - he graduated from GWU with a degreee in Education. I went from Anacostia to American U where I completed 3 years but did not earn a degree. I finally obtained a degreee in English from Old Dominion U in Norfolk VA 18 years after I graduated from high school. I have a daughter who will be 30 this August. She is completing a Master's degree and hopefully will soon be heading to med school to study general surgery. She's a 4.0 student (she gets it from her Dad, not me) and works as a Surgical Technologist. She's still single, by the way, and an absolute knockout (if any of you folks have available sons). manager - Randy has a lovely wife and gave us a grandson four years ago this July. I worked as an industrial salesperson for a number of years and am now on the opposite side of the desk, working as a Purchasing Agent. I love the work and have been very fortunate. I moved to the Tidewater VA area in 1963 and met and married my husband in 1967. We've been here since then. He is a retired Navy CDR and now works as a public school guidance counsellor and does some teaching on the side. My husband has relatives still in D.C. I recently visited them and went by Anacostia. It looks very sad now, but I spent a few minutes recalling the good friends and good times that I had had there.
