ave moved away from home. I joined facebook at the request of one of my daughters, so I can better keep in touch with her and other friends and family from all over the world. My life consists of alot of volunteer work since I find investing in my community to be very important and enjoyable. In my spare time I like to go horseback riding or spend time with my two dogs and new kitty.".

This Great Egret visited our neighborhood on Tuesday.  Local wildlife is one the the things we love about this area.
It looked like a new weathervane on our roof.
This is one of the Hawks that built a nest in a Eucalyptus tree on the horse trail near our yard.  The pair of Hawks has returned for several years to raise their young in the same nest.  I was able to catch this photos of

We had a new visitor in our yard, last weekend.  I believe it is a Great Horned Owl.  It was just perched on a tree branch between the horse sheds, and the pool, at dusk.  It was a bit hard to get a good photo due to the di

Step 2-  build a hot fire and burn until it is just hot coals
Step 3- stuff the turkey and cover with 4 layers of heavy duty aluminum foil
Step 4- put the foil wrapped turkey in a soaking wet burlap bag.  Tie it up with wire , and make a loop of wire long enough to stick out of the dirt hole.
Step 5- take most of the coals out of the pit.  Put the turkey into the pit.  Cover it with the rest of the coals, and top with dirt.  We put ours in at  8:30am and will take it out at 5pm.
Mmmm Mmmm good.  Moist and delicious!
