Carol's Story

Life After looking at some of the questions for the bio I think my life sounds boring but it isn't really. My career is on 'coast' for now which is fine while the both girls are in high school. There are enough times they want to do things without parents that I want to be available when there is something for us to do together. Our youngest, Mallory is in 9th grade and we both enjoy Christian rock concerts. That's her newest interest, I still try to hear Kansas in concert whenever I can. Barry and I moved to Colorado in 2002 after a lot of vacations here. He wanted to be closer to the mountains. I have missed Kansas City and Lee's Summit more than I thought I would. We make at least one ski trip a year now that we are only 2 hours away from the slopes. The vacation we would like to repeat is a condo at the base of Copper Mountain. We have been married since 1980 and that has not exactly been boring either. Fo...Expand for more
r our 25th anniversary Jennifer and Mallory surprised us with a little celebration with help from Billie Jean over the phone from Ohio and Mom and Dad when they came out to visit. Irene and Ilene and their husbands also drove here. After that fun weekend was over Irene learned she had Stage 4 breast cancer. She has battled through it and is much better now and our family has experienced the bonding effect that can happen during these times. That's who I am, where I am and how I am. When I have had tough times and wanted to talk to other people about it I have thought those people are the one who need to hear when things finally get better (and they always have). So if you have EVER heard me griping about little stuff it's because I didn't have anything big to gripe about, any way, get in touch with me and I promise to give the good news about how things finally turned out. Hope all is well with you and yours, Carol

Frank J. Baker if you could have been here this week this is what you would have seen. Three days before I had driven thru here to get to Salida. The sky was blue and sun behind me so it glowed! Awesome, wow, glorious......
No fireworks. Instead disco in the parking lot.

It looks like Mallory just told Nathan and Emma we are 9,000 feet above sea level.
While it is COLD and SUNNY I am standing in front of a window to do morning stretches and feel the warmth of the sun.
Ahh, it is going to be a good day.

Of course we get together for Morgan's first soccer game ever. Snow started just afterward. Reminds us of Mallory's first game of soccer when she was in first grade and it snowed then. We know how to dress for spring spor
