Carol's Story
Life
I graduated from Notre Dame College (now SJU) with an elementary teachers degree in '67. I got married 8/18/68 and started a family after teaching grade 4 for 2 years. We had three daughters. They are now all married with children of their own. We have four granddaughters 24,11,10,9
and two grandsons 21 and13. We recently became the great-grandparents of a little girl on 4/03/2013. We are now "empty nesters" and enjoying every minute of it. I had been working for Bushnell's Kitchens on S.I. for almost 30 years as a kitchen designer. It...Expand for more
was very rewarding work. We closed down our business in April 2008 and decided to retire. We moved to New Jersey in 1983, after I survived the brutal murder of my dad in November 1976 on Staten Island. The memory of that caused me to escape to N.J. We are now enjoying watching the grandchildren grow up and having a new life together.
Workplace
I taught grade 4 for 2 years (1967-1969) in Perth Amboy, N.J.
It was the best experience of my life. After having children, I started doing kitchen design for my husband and still do it to this day.
