Carol's Story
Life
Tom and I will celebrate our 33th anniversary this summer. Our son, Jake, is 23 and is currently a Petroleum Engineer for Chevron in California. We are very excited that he will marry Stefanie Aug. 23. She is a beautiful young lady...both inside and out. We are thrilled that he "picked" so well. We have a daughter, Elise, who is 21 years old and will have her master's degree from Texas Tech in the fall. She is currently doing an internship at Children's Hospital in Dallas to become a Child Life Specialist.
We are enjoying having our own life again, and have truly enjoyed our new home in West Texas with it's view of the mesas. We have a guest house in the backyard that is constantly filled with family and friends as they come down to visit the Davis mountains or the Big Bend.
School
I have many fond memories of high school, but I don't believe I'd care to experience it again. There were certainly just as many trying times as well. I cared deeply for many of my friends in school and always thought that they would continue to be a part of my life. But, life marc...Expand for more
hes on...doesn't it?
I still can't believe that Vivian and I skipped out so many classes to spend time down at the lake working on our tan! What a shock college life was after that!
College
Sometimes I think I was born to be a professional student. I attended UTA, and then graduated from North Texas State with my Bachelor's degree. While we lived in Fort Davis, I completed my Master's at Sul Ross in Alpine. During our time in East Texas, I added more graduate hours from UT-Tyler, and then Texas A&M Commerce, while I pursued my License in School Psychology. I am scheduled to teach a graduate class in assessment this summer at Midwestern State. Will I ever be through with school?
Workplace
I currently work as an administrator for an Alternative Education High School. I also am the Director of the Bilingual/ESL program for the district. In short, I have every job in the district that no other administrator would want! I do enjoy the change though. Tom continues to work as the Athletic Director/Head Football Coach and has had a very successful last couple of years.
