Carol's Story

Update: I married Peter Hallas so now I am Carol Hallas, still living in Yelm, I have the AA in Business Management and helped both my daughters start their own cleaning companies as well as still having my own. Hi, I'm Carol Swenson, then Jackson, now Hallas. I've raised 3 children, have 7 grandchildren, washed alot of dishes, cleaned at a motel, waited tables at the Ming Tree Cafe, joined a housekeeping company, now own my own company, Sunshine Club Housekeeping, and am back in school. I am in my 5th quarter at Kaplan University. I am working on a Associates Degree in Applied Science in Business Management. I am thinking about branching out and hiring people to work in my company as well. I always wanted to be a mom when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a plain idea. As it turns out, they were somewhat right. Being a grandma is wonderful. It is fun and little kids can be interesting and entertaining. I love it. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have reliable transportation, a good attitude, and positive energy to be able to deal with the day-to-day. An education so I can make money enough to be a more productive person in the community will be helpful as well. Carol Jackson (Swenson) I clean things when I get upset. It accomplishes something and uses up energy. My inspiration these days comes from my clients that I work for, they are mentors. Also my children. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Linda Norman, because she was my sister who died of cancer. Right now my obsession is college homework. I like gardening...Expand for more
, and quilting. I like reading books but have no time outside of work and school. When I do have time I visit my kids and grandkids. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the master bath and add on a a bigger tub with sauna. My dream home would be on the water. My kids showed me how to be street smart If I won $100 million, I'd give part of it to Children's Hosp. in Seattle, , then spend the rest on cancer foundation, building, running a puzzle company and myself and my family. I am in College online, so my campus is my house, and my school room is the dining room, Lol My current age is 50. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old. I was so completely right. I own a Housekeeping Company. I am getting ready to hire workers for it. I would like to start a puzzle company, and get one more degree after this one. My best friend would tell you I'm a jabberbox, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as quiet. Mostly blue jeans and a t-shirt, and comfortable shoes I share my home with Pete, which I find wonderful. In 10 years, I hope to be the owner of a puzzle company. I'm going to get there by going to college. My first job was at babysitting, where I got paid $10.00 to sit in the house. What I remember most about it is the kids were fun to play with. I loved going to Union Washington where my grand parents lived. There were many fun things to do inside and out. You could see the canal from her living room bay window. We watched the speed boat races there every summer and had a barbeque which always included crab salad.
