Carol's Story
After obtaining my teaching credential from UCSB in 1972 I was fortunate to be hired by Goleta School District where I taught Kdg and 1st grade for 8 years. I also spent two years teaching in Montecito and Santa Barbara. Then I married my husband Bill McLafferty in Nov 1981 and we have 4 children(3 daughters and lson)who range in age from 32 to 24)
I live On an acre in a rural canyon just north of Santa Barbara with my 6 cats.

Santa Barbara County. He passed away in 2010.
I never returned to the classroom teaching. I spend my days volunteering gardening, bowling and socializing with friends and neighbors .
After a mastectomy and chemo for breast cancer( in 2000) I was cancer free for 14 years until 2 years ago when the cancer reoccurred in some lymph nodes. I am currently in treatment at City Of Hope. I am thankful for each new day and am enjoying my family, friends, and life in general.
