Carol's Story
Life
Wife, mother, grandmother. Which do I like best? Depends on the day. Sometimes I just like to be me. It took some time but I finally remember who that is. I love to sew, especially rag dolls. I like to knit and crochet. Traveling is fun and I like football. That is a good thing considering my husband's need to spend an inordinate amount of time in football stadiums (he's a retired high school coach). I live in the sticks-tall pine ones. I enjoy the quiet after the years of running the rat race. My husband and I have 5 children (combined), 10 grandchildren, a cat (Maine Coon) named Mr. Lucky and three horses Mr. BoJangles (a palomino quarterhorse), Chippewa (a paint)and Tatanka (another quarter) who we share with a daughter and her family.
My husband, Bill, graduated from Santa Barbara H.S. ('60) and CalPoly SLO. I met him when he was coaching my son at Mission Viejo H.S. When we married he brought 2 daughters to join my son and 2 daughters. Four of them were teenagers at the time. We survived and managed to live til retirement. W...Expand for more
e now enjoy traveling in our Dolphin Motor Coach and as I said going to lots of college football games.
Summer of 2008 started out with a bang. We attended the Olympic Trials for Track and Field in Eugene. We were there for the whole competition. It was great. Better (in my opinion) than the Olympics. You are up close and personal with the athletes and see them for days thru the prelims. We visited Coeur d' Alene for an rv rally with our PacNats group. We all live in the Northwest and own coaches manufactured by National RV. It's a fun group of people who live all over the NW (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and British Columbia...even one couple from Alberta). We gather together 3 times during the summer and visit different places. For someone who did few vacations as a kid this is make up time! Through the Fall we attended University of Oregon football games and managed to get in some riding. We keep trying to find time for golf. So far the only time we manage is at those rallies! It is such fun being married to the energizer bunny!
