Carol's Story
Life
Left Lindsay in 65, divorced in 73. Met husband, Bob, while working in Prudhoe Bay Alaska in 83...we were married in 85. Moved to TX in 84 then to LA in 88. I have two sons, Gene in Arizona working for the UA, and Shawn, Supervisor for the Park Service at the Grand Canyon. Bob, two daughters, Tiff in Houston and DeLayne in Alabama. Five grandchildren. We have had street rods for about 10 years. A 27 T-Bucket, 31 Coupe and 29 Roadster that Bob built himself. We sold it Jan of 04 and got a racing 79 Z28 he is currently working on. Also another T-bucket to build after retirement.
Trying to put enough aside to retire June 2009...Keeping one step ahead of the Stock Market and West Nile Virus.
Personal
I volunteer for an orgainzation called Brave Heart, Children in Need. We provide a backpack filled with personal, educational and fun items when kids are taken from their homes by social servies (most times they are taken quick...Expand for more
ly and have no time to pack anything, not even shoes) We provided gift bags for 3800 children last year at Christmas and it is growing every year. We are in 38 parishes now and expanding quickly.
I paint for recreation and belong to the local Red Hatters here. Love to travel. Follow NASCAR go to races yearly at Talladega, Al. Camp for a week at the track. Looking forward to more tracks after retirement.
Workplace
Started out in CA at Lifetime Doors in 73..then to Wismer and Becker in Accounts Payables, General Ledger,Payroll and MIS Dept. To Stockton in 82 for last SeaLift to the North Slope...then on to Prudhoe Bay,AK in 83 for a year.Leaving CA for TX went to work for Dinerstein Property Management from Bookkeeper to In House Auditing. 84-88. To Louisiana and Alabama doing mostly temp work. It has been a good work life...I have enjoyed each job experience and where it has taken me in life. Hope it continues on........
