Carol's Story
After high school, I went to Portland State University, initially as an accounting major. I quickly realized that I did not want to crunch numbers for the rest of my life, and changed majors to a favorite topic of mine: History. After college, it was an extremely tough job market. I could not find employment anywhere, even as a receptionist with the Oregon Symphony.
Eventually, US Bank called me in for an interview. Banking is definitely an 'accidental occupation', as very few people who end up being 'lifers' ever set out to do so. I thought I was just taking 2-3 years off to decide on my Master's major and program. I thought wrong. I recently celebrated my 19th anniversary with US Bank.

have one furry child, Tabitha, a black 9 year old feline, but no human children. I am still waiting to find the right person to spend my life with, but keep active in different interests to pass the time. I have taught women's self defense through the Portland Police Bureau's WomenStrength program, and have learned (and taught) social dancing. (East and West Coast Swing, Nightclub TwoStep, ChaCha, Rumba, and Country Western Line Dancing.)
Later this year (in May), I will be taking on a brand new adventure: Moving to the Reno/Sparks area. I will be able to continue my present position within US Bank, and will have the opportunity to work from home. I am looking forward to reconnecting with the great outdoors, including cross country skiing, hiking, biking and (hopefully learning to) snowshoeing.
