Carol's Story
Life
I have now retired after 39 years of teaching, primarily high school and college speech and English classes. I have been married for 40 years to the same man (Glen, a university professor). I have only four-legged children (1 dog and 2 cats). I was selected as the Kansas Teacher of the Year in 1999 and was named to the USA Today All-Teacher Team in 2000. f Fame -- a dream come true for me. In retirement, I love to travel, read, garden and do lots of volunteer work. I am currently helping the National Teachers Hall of Fame in a nationwide initiative to honor teachers, and I also work part-time for the National State Teachers of the Year, headquartered at the Hall of Fame. I would love to hear from former students and teaching colleagues from Denver, Muskogee, Warner, and Emporia. .
