Carol's Story
Hello!
As some of you may know, I grew up in a suburb of Los Angeles before my family moved to Dexter for my 8th grade attendance at St. Joseph Catholic School. My dad started a Blueberry farm and still lives there today. That is where I learned to drive a caterpillar and chop down trees to clear land and plant all of those blueberry bushes, one at a time. No, none of that has ever come in handy - just in case you were wondering.
After high school I graduated from GVSU with a BS in Graphic Arts and replaced Jim Henson (of the Muppets) at Michigan Lithographing in Grand Rapids...Expand for more
where I designed packaging for a lot of retail store items (Smuckers, Vlasic etc). Never did like to sit at a desk, though, so I returned to school at Kendall College of Art & Design where I graduated with a BFA in Interior Design.
Most of my career was spent at American Seating in GR, where I designed interesting projects - CIA, NSA, and most of the time was spent on designing their showrooms nationwide. So, lots of travel.
I started my family late, married in 1989, have two boys in college - and am not working at the moment. Relaxing this summer, outside in the garden....
