Carole's Story
Hello to all:
First, I would thank God for His grace and mercy for bringing me this far - I'll be 54 in June! I quess that's no secret to y'all!!!! It's rare that I can reconnect with you - but I will try none the less.
I am married to a wonderful man, Kenneth David Adams Jr for the last 13 years - he's an Attucks Tiger but I forgave him years ago. We have alot of CAHS folks in and out of our house; that got me to thinking, why not me too???
Next, I have worked in computer technology for the last 32 years in various roles and at various companies - its a living and its been very good to me. I am currently the Technical Administrator at Indiana Primary Health Care Association near downtown Indy.
This is something we've all encounter, the loss of a loved one (if you haven't, you are truly blessed); my dad passed in FEB 2004. I look like him and people that knew my dad call me Dave Jr. I like that! I also lost my oldest brother in a senseless robbery - he was the real Dave Jr. but a mama's boy...
The 8 siblings left try to take care of Mom, but I guess I feel I do the most. She's the only mother I have and I'm so thankful she's with us and in good health.
Not trying to write a book - so y'all come on out on the 25th and get the real deal. God Bless!
Update April 2009:
I got a new Boston Terrier puppy at Thanksgiving, his name is Mr. Kennedy and man, he is baaaaaddddddd! He will be 6 months old on the 9th. Ken and I indulge his every whim... but no table food! Ken is president of his CAHS Class and has been ...Expand for more
coaching me on how to be a better participant with my class - dang! His commentaries always includes me stepping out and being accountable. I nominated my Mom for the Clarian Health/Pacer's Women's Appreciation Celebration; she won and is excited. The only thing is, I like boxing, track and field and NO pro ball at all! I'm trying to see if one of her friends will be her guest.
And, remember Debbie Parker? She and I hooked up at my church this past Sunday (4/5) and it was like we never missed a beat - but its been over 30 years since I've seen her. I took a picture but yeah, I have'nt taken the camera out of the car yet! Deb is absolutely beautiful! She has pastored her own church and is a youth minister - and she is looking for a church home. Well Deb, my pastor - who will talk about me like a dog - said he welcomes you just stopping in until you make us your church home. There's plenty to do!
Okay, lastly, I just finished a 40-day fast. At first it was the Daniel fast -fruits, veggies, legumes, and whole grains. I couldn't do it so after 12 days I committed to a sacrifice instead: no alcohol, beef, pork, bread or sweets. I fell short on the sweets... but I liked the way I felt not eating bread, pork or beef so I'm gonna stick with that. Oh, I will have a sandwhich sometimes but as a general rule, I will eat as little bread as possible. Congratulate me and praise Christ Jesus for keeping me - I am a bread junkie!
Hope you all are well - I am soooooo looking forward to warm weather. See you in the sunshine!
