Carole's Story

Carole Kent Burdick went to Lakeview High school. Is married to John Burdick. Has 1 son Nathanial John. Lives in California. Carole Kent Burdick was born and raised in Michigan. She attended Michigan State University, graduating with honors, with a Masters Degree in Social Work. Shortly thereafter, Carole moved to California to create a social work department for High Desert Medical Center, in Joshua Tree. During those years, Carole was the Director of Social Work at HDMC, where she participated in and supervised in the creation of many community based programs designed to help people in need. Many of those programs are still in operation today, including Hospice, Unity Home, and Adult Day Care, formally known as the the Stoke Club. For many years she also provided direct therapy to patients and their families through the Visiting Nurses Association and through the Rehabilitation Department at Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. Art came to Carole as a result of a personal trauma resulting from a downhill skiing accident. During the years of rehabilitation she discovered the process of creating art to be a way to transcend pain into a state of healing. This is when she met the spiritual artist, Linda Jacobson who taught Art and Transformation Through Art at UCLA. Carole took a series of these courses, learning about the how various cultures around the world recognise the multi-dimensional aspects of how art aids in healing and spiritual/ personal transformation. In alliance with her nature, Carole longed to share this process with others. In 2004 she met...Expand for more
Master Fusionartist, and Founder of the Fusionart International Movement; Rassouli. Under the loving support and mentorship of Rassouli, in a community of fellow Fusionartists, Carole came to know art as a whole new way of living and breathing life. Carole currently coordinates Fusionart activities, projects, events, and monthly creativity retreats with Rassouli for Fusionart International. She opens her heart offering love, support and encouragement to all those around her. Her art is a reflection of that love as it flows through her open heart, free of judgment, offering a vision of transformation and hope for those that view it. In 2010 she participated in a transformational program for Foster Care youths. (********You might say more on what this was). Carole has shown her work in Santorini, Greece; at the Lodge in Big Sur; at the James Grey Gallery at The Bergamot Station Art Center in Santa Monica, at Gallery C in Hermosa Beach, at the Mehregan Festival in Orange County, at Meditation Mount in Ojai, at Pali Mountain Retreat Center at Lake Arrowhead, at Pilgrim Pines Retreat Center in Oak Glen, at the Quantum Leap Event in Burbank, California, at The Love Stock Festival in Hollywood, and in NY, at the Creative's Rising Exhibit.
