Carolyn's Story
Wow,
Once again, Wow, Christmas is upon us, my granddaughter Alyssa just turned 2, 2-3 word sentences....I have posted many photos on Facebook, where you can connect with me.....Merry Christmas, and have a Prosperous New Year.
December already, and on Sunday, we will be celebrating my Granddaughter's 1st Birthday....yep 1 year old, Alyssa will be...She refused the pacifier (yeah)...hated being on her belly.....got her first tooth at 5 months, started crawling late August and started walking mid October. She's not crazy about baby food, she tastes everything her Mom makes, should have seen her at Thanksgiving, she tasted it all. Watching her grow has been the highlight of my life. Still waiting for a real hug and kiss from her, only I suspect I might get a lick instead of a kiss, check out the photo of her and her dog, Doezer. Oh, she loves to shop...heads straight for the shoes....gotta love it ladies. I am gonna miss her on Christmas, but she will be with her other G-Mom in L.A. You can find me on Facebook, where I have posted a couple of videos and many more photos.
I have enjoyed reconnecting with a few of my old classmates...
Happy New Year, here it is January 20th, 2009. As I indicated last year, I was going to become a grandmother for the first time and a G-Mom I became, my Granddaughter Alyssa Lynn Portillo' arrived in South Lake Tahoe on December 6th, 2008 at 3:46am, she weighed in at exactly 5 lbs....Expand for more
and 19 in. long. She reminded me so much of her mother, when I had Samantha 28 years earlier.....so tiny, and so beautiful. I watch both my Daughter and Son-in-law with her and they are wonderful parents. I have added quite a few photos taken in the last couple of months.
I have not skied as yet, still waiting for Mother Nature to dump some real snow, lots more snow, we need it.
Life...... it's been 4 years since I posted my profile.....Since then my life has had many changes, happier...still single but that's okay, I have enjoyed the few contacts from former school mates, still keep in contact with some.
After graduating HS, I attended LA Trade Tech for 2 years, 1973 work as a dark room technician and staff photographer, in downtown LA for 5 years. In 1978, I moved to the High Sierras and purchased an Ol' Time photo studio. Then in 1980, I gave birth to my beautiful daughter Samantha, who still lives here at the Lake.
In 2007, September, that is, my daughter married her best friend, Andy.....whose father went to Franklin HS in the late 60's. In December, 2008, I will become a grandmother. Am looking forward to it.
I love where I live, for the blue skies. bright nights, snow and the skiing. During my lunch hour and after work, I go to the lake and enjoy the view. So many stars at night.
My family still lives on the hill.
To all of my friends who read this I wish you well and good health.
