Carolyn's Story

Life What can I say???? Life did not turn out like I thought in High School, but then agin, whose has? I finally found someone who really loves me and more than that, they can put up with me. To all the men I loved before....well, let me just say I am sorry...You had to be saints to have put up with me all those years ago. These days I am a Mom with three beautiful children who I love more than life itself. They are the best things I ever did. I work with special needs children and am active in several causes close to my heart. My attitudes in life haven't changed much I guess. I still want to save the world and never say I love you without meaning it. I spent several years in the Marine Corps. It helped to ground me, but the best thing I did was to marry my husband, who is not perfect, but is perfect for me. As I said, if he can live with me, he has to be either crazy or a saint. I haven't finished my degree, but when everyone else is through with school, maybe I will go back and complete it. It's not like life isn't a continual learning experience and my kids teach me something new everyday. My life may not have turned out like I planned and my "to do" list continues to get longer (guess I have to live to 120 in order to get to the end of the list so far) , but it turned out the way it was supposed to and I am happy to be here. School High School is all a little foggy to me (as I am certain it is for many of us who we...Expand for more
nt to school at this time). So much going on and little did we realize how profound these years would be. I have such good memories of choir and Mr. Lombardo and Ms. Sandahl. Everyone, no matter what there station in school (popular or not) were on equal ground. It was a great feeling especially for someone like me who had things going on at home and felt like I never really belonged anywhere (except there). I am grateful for teachers like Mr. Grinbarg who taught me how important it was to bend the rules sometimes in order to to ultimately do the right thing. That being who you are is much more important than being popular. I am grateful for the teachers who saw something in me and believed, even when I didn't myself. And for all the guys who didn't make me feel bad because I had a "crush".....Let us not forget those, who I found out years later, had a crush on me...I am sorry if I didn't notice...and Thank you...... To my girl friends....I still remeber our times and grateful for you all. Thank you to all of you for letting me be me and for helping me to become what I am... I will never forget you. Workplace I spent most of my work life in the Marine Corps. I went in after graduation, got out after three years and then re enlisted after my divorce. I've done some retail and management and now I work with special needs children. This is by far the most rewarding experience of my life and I would not trade it for the world.
