Carolyn's Story

Life I was married to Joe Don Parker for 33 years. We had 3 children. Joe was killed in 1997 in an on-job accident while working in Kentucky. We have 6 grandchildren--3 girls and 3 boys. I still live in Texas, where my husband grew up and my youngest daughter and her little girl live with me. She works at one of the ...Expand for more
prisons near here and I keep her little girl. Guess you could say I'm raising her, since Samantha works nights and sleeps during the day. My middle child has 5 children, and I keep them 2 nights a week, while she and her husband attend meetings. We live in a very small town (population less than 1500), and love it.
