Before graduation from high school, I began working immediately for the telephone company. During the next few years, I worked, danced with a rock band, joined the USO and enjoyed life to the fullest. Eventually I married and established a family. We traveled from one coast to another, state to state (dictated by my husband's career) about every 18 months or so. It was worse than moving with the service! Making friends quickly and losing them quickly was always hard for me as a military brat, but subjecting my children to the same life was heartbreaking. To allow our children to attend and graduate from one high school, my husband went back to his original career and we bounced to another state yet again. While the kids went to high school, I decided to go to college and graduated with honors.
