Carolyn's Story
Life
I am married with 6 great kids and have been living in Pennslvania for the past 16 years. I have just completed my second year of college (better late than never) where I have recived my specialized diploma for a Para educator and I am continuing for my associates degree which I am hoping to recieve next May. I am a cub scout leader and have been for the past 5 years and love what I do. I am also very active in boy scouts which my 2 boys are now (who would have thought back then). Right now I sub as a teacher assistant and love working with special ed students and my goal after graduation is to work in an emotional support class if possible as I do most of the time now. I would love to hear from anyone. know I was very quiet and never got to know you in school but would like the chance now. I would rather not say who my biggest crush was he was not in our class but I would like to say I was very quiet and did not talk so no one got to know the real me. Although many hurt me deeply with words I will never forget I hope someday I will get to meet them and they will get to know the real me and maybe know how bad they really hurt me. Workplace
While going to school I worked as a cashier. I continued there for a couple of years after graduation until I got a job as a transfer clerk at a Brokage house which was located in the World Trade Center. I worked there for a year until I stared my family. I then raised my family and moved to Pa in 1990 where I worked again as a cahier for 4 years where started to do alot of volunteer work in my childrens school and eventually became a sub as a teacher assistant. I went to College 2 years ago to get my Associates Degree to become a Para educator and just recieved my diploma this May for a Para educator and will continue until I recieve my degree. Well in 2009 I received my Accociates Degree. in 2007 I start working as an associate teacher for autistic children with severe behaviors where I continue to work now. the past 13 years working at this job have been very challenging but at the same time very rewarding. I have my son Mikey as my inspiration for what I do because unfortunately I was unable to raise him. He became severely brain damaged due to surgery just 2 days shy of his 2nd birthday so working with these children I feel I dont have it so bad I can help a child where I couldn't help mine. 😢I feel a sense of fullfillment.
