Carrie's Story
Well, there's been lots of bumps along the way, but life is pretty good. My oldest from my first marriage Daniel is 26 and getting married in Aug 2010. I have 4 year old granddaughter MacKenzie Rose who is the light of my light! I have a 17 year old son Joe who is graduating this year. He is 6'7" (no he doesn't get his height from me). Joe is big into sports, basketball big time and many colleges are looking at him now. It's looking like Boston is where he'll go. I have a daughter Stephanie turning 16 in March and getting her driver's license - DEAR GOD get off the road! I remarried about 16 years ago and John and I have Joe and Steph. There super great kids..unlike I was. I went back to school for a criminal justice degree and started my career in Lino Lakes prison as a guard for a few years and was offered a job with Anoka County as a truancy probation officer (I know what your thinking LOL!) After a few years of that, I was offered a Lt. position with Anoka Sheriff's Dept. a few more years of that...Expand for more
..And I spend my last few years with the Isanti county Sheriff's dept. and retired. Now I work for The Salvation Army at a Transitions Coordinator. I work at Headquarters in Roseville. No I'm not super religous. I transition men and women out of prison back into society. I am also the person who (for Christmas) brings gifts into the prison so offenders can pick a toy and then we wrap it and ship it to the child as if the incarcerated parent went and bought it and mailed it to them themselves...yep, it's a huggy feely thing. If you watch the news, they usally talk about it in Dec. you may see me or my boss interview about it. I do get to fly to all the toy companies in the spring to go pick the toys which is a blast! And yes my granddaughter get's tons of toys from my Rep's. I live in the country just north of North Branch on 10 acres in a house my husband built for us with horses, dogs, cats, pigs we eat and of course chickens..my kids won't eat store boughten eggs! That's it! Have a great day all!
