Carrie's Story
Life
Hi! I have just recently moved to California so I am joining Classmates.com to see if anyone else that I know from High School is out here.
Sorry but I don't have any current photos on my computer. I look pretty much the same as I did back then- I just have bigger smile lines on my face!
I have been all over the place since I graduated high school. I went to college at the University of Kansas, but I dropped out after 2 years to pursue a career in the Music Buisness in New York City. Went there and did that. Publicist at an indie label, managed and signed bands, worked at the largest music marketing company in the world. I'm not sure how I made it out of NYC alive after being out at clubs until 5 or 6 every morning.
Then I moved to Chicago for 5 years and loved it.
Next I moved to Memphis and hated it.
Then I moved to Des Moines because I had this big dream that if I went back to the place where I first fell in love that my chances of it happening all over again were greater. And I was right. Anyways..
Then I moved to Omaha and go...Expand for more
t a great job selling Riedel Crystal wine glasses. I couldn't take the corporate nonsense so I quit my job and did a whole lot of nothing for the next 7 months and my boyfriend says "that I took to being unemployed very well" so I lived up to that statement.
Next I moved to the Resort community in California called Lake Arrowhead. I had to evacuate in October due to the fires. We stayed at the Ali Baba Motel in Costa Mesa. It's a hooker motel but we got a weekly rate of $350 (yeah!) so we could leave the pooters (our cats) there without any maids entering the room. So we left them and went to Northern California, because what else do you do when you've been evacuated and your not sure if your home will be standing when you return? You drink lotsa wine, that's what! Napa's great.
We found a new place in Orange County and, yes, those creepy communities like Coto (from Real Housewives of OC) do exist...I have friends that live there next to bands like Linkin Park. The air quality here is killing me so I'm moving back to Chicago in November 2008. Cheers!
