Carrie's Story
So when I was in High School I always thought I would major in Music or go to Beauty school, and eventually get married and be a house wife. I thought would move out of Damascus, but stay in the area.
But I ended up majoring in Landscaping, then I went to work and a few years later I was living in Wheaton and was married to a med student, and was working at a cardiology clinic.
Then just prior to September 11th, I broke up with my first husband, and was at a REALLY low point, and then I was in DC during the terrorist attacks. I took a good hard look at my life, and thought about what I wanted from life.
I went to grad school in SC, for Arrhythmia Technology, Traveled the country for a bit. Worked as a eye tech, surgical tech, and cardiology tech for some time, got a business degree, and then my MBA in Healthcare.

had my daughter, and got divorced again.
But I ended up in healthcare IT, and am currently working on my PhD in Health Science, with a specialty in Policy and Management. Because I moved a lot with school, I ended up getting exposed to all areas of my career and learning most of the aspects of the industry. I currently manage 2 small clinics and freelance in finance, research methods, cause of death, business solutions for the Deaf and Blind, HIT application and development, marketing, web development and design, regulatory issues, and almost anything else you can think of.
Back in the day, I would not have thought in a million years that I would be as successful as I am now. Or that I would have seen much of the country, and I have been able to see the world. One day when I am even more successful... and that will be even better.
