Carrie's Story
I am the girl that came to Ohio in 1975 from California and, in 1977 I moved back to California. I really didn't want to go back because I made some new friends there.I didn't even get to graduate at Butler high.when I was at Butler high I didn't have a lot of close friends but,I had many aquaintences. I was the girl that was friend to the underdogs or Geeks.I didn't and still don't like bullies. Before moving to Ohio,I lived a sheltered life. My sisters and I were raised as Jehovah's witnesses. The morals we learned gave us a good structure to live by, that I am thankful for, though it was also very challenging. We had no Birthdays,or Christmas's nor friends that were not of the same faith. we were also taught to turn the other cheek (no fighting)so as you can guess , we were targets for bullies. When I moved to Ohio with my sister Cindy, I vowed to never let anyone see that side of the old me. Everyone there at Butler had no idea. Most of the students thought I was a stuck-up California girl. I found out later that there were several guys who wanted to ask me out or even talk to me but, they were afraid I would snub them. I had no clue. I began dating a guy who was out...Expand for more
of school already, he was from Trotwood, Ohio. I did meet a lot of nice people while I was there in Vandalia. I am not able to remember most their names. Here are a few I do remember. Kim Barlow, Dean Cook and Todd Stoltz. If anyone remembers me, leave me a message. I can recall one crazy day after school, a guy who lived near me ( village green drive) and went to school at Butler too, offered myself and another person (a guy) I think it was todd, a ride home in his car. It was raining really hard and so I said yes. Well the guy that was driving (I think his name was Jaime) decided to peel out down the street, tires screeching. The cops pulled us over, found brass knuckles on me(Todd had handed them to me as soon as we were pulled over) I didn't even know what they were, let alone that they were illegal. Jaime had a ticket he hadn't paid, and I had some eyeshadow that had broke up and, I had put it in a baggie, the cops thought it was some drug. The next thing I knew we were being carted off to jail. I was soo mad that I used every curse word that I had ever heard, on all of them, even the cop( for not listening to me) I just have to laugh, now that it's long over with.
