Rayburn Casey's Story
I lived in a little village called Mount Carmel near Bridgeport, Alabama in 1953. I started to school in a little 2 room school house. Teachers were Miss Griffith and Miss Betsey.
In 1955 we moved to the town of Bridgeport and I started to school there in the 2nd grade.
In 1956 we moved upon Sand Mountain to Pisgah, Alabama and I started to school there in the 3rd grade and went through the 4th, 5th and 6th grade before moving back to Bridgeport in 1959. My teachers at Pisgah were Miss Satterfield, Miss Holly, Miss Skinner, and Miss Southern.

ridgeport and graduated to the 7th grade.
In the summer of 1960 we moved to Stevenson, Alabama and I started school there in the 7th grade. I went through the 10th grade before I quit school in 1963.
After I quit school I moved to Chattanooga, Tn. in 1966. I went to work at the Simco Saddle Shop and worked there until 1971 and I got married that year
In 1971 I went to work for the City of Chattanooga at the Moccasin Bend Waste Water Treatment Plant. I went to night school and earned a GED from Kirkman High. After 37 years I retired from the City of Chattanooga in 2008 as Liquid Plant Operation Manager.
