Cassie's Story
Life
My life since high school has pretty much been my kids, grandkids and work.. Not a whole lot has changed as far as that goes. I am currently single and living my life as I want to, doing what I want and when I want. It's great.
I lost my Charley on December 24, 2011 due to complications of diabetes while he was on duty in Glasford.. He was a police officer, the job he always wanted. He was 26 at the time. It broke my heart and it continues to be a huge hole in my heart.
My Carlye is now 33 and has given me 3 amazing and spoiled rotten grandkids, Jonah 9, Paige 7 and Tessa 4. Jonah is all boy and into any sport he can. He loves baseball, hockey and basketball. He got his first home run this year. Grandma may have been up at the backstop screaming and yelling like crazy. Might have been :). Paige is my artist. She loves any type of art as well as reading, dancing and gymnastics. She is such a strong powerful little girl! Tessa is developing into quite the little character. And she ...Expand for more
wants to do absolutely everything her big brother and sister do. Most sentences with her start with "Grandma - watch this!"
I'm still at OSF in Supply Chain and really loving what I do. My favorite part is when we do system implementations. I love being able to be at the hospitals and getting to know their Mission Partners.
Turning 60 and becoming newly single was the impetus for me to take my life back! So I started getting active and working out more. Love the me I have become. I love being able to be active walking, hiking, playing baseball, basketball, throwing the football around or whatever with the kids. Paige and her gymnastics are a bit of a challenge. She stood in my living room and brought her leg up by her ear and asked if I could do that. Um...only if she knows how to call for the ambulance! LOL! But taking back my life and living on my terms has been the best gift I've given myself.
Not much else. Just living life and hoping that one day I'll get to retire like so many of you.
