Cassie's Story
Life
I am happily married, meeting my husband, Tom in New Orleans during Mardi Gras.He was in the Navy when we met. We have two children. Jessica just turned 17 and is a senior this August at St. Pete High of all places, but she is working very hard in the IB program, so I am cutting her a little slack. Our son, Reid is 11 years old and in the 7th grade at Bay Point Technology Magnet.
All of my 3 sisters and their families live here in St Pete and my brother's family is in Nashville. 10 of the 11 grandchildren are here, so that is wonderful for us to get to be together.
I have a great family and a job that I love, but the best parts of the last 20 years has been all the great places we have travelled to. All but 5 states in the US, to England, Switzerland, Italy and the Bahamas. We have seen amazing things. In England we walked amongst the inner circle of the stones in Stonehenge and actually got to touch them. Of course I think our kids were most impressed with Platform 9 3/4 in King's Crossing Train Station from Harry Potter. We crossed the Alps by train. We gazed upon the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican and took an illegal picture of "The David" in Florence. We took a "boat taxi" to our hotel in Venice and hydroplaned up Lake Como to stay in an authentic Italian town, Tremezzo. We have snorkelled off Eleuthra every day for a week, and on more than one ocassion told our son, his birthday didn't count since we were out of the country. We watched the ball drop in Time Square in 2001 and have stood in awe at the edge of the Grand Canyon. We drove 8888 miles in a giant loop across the US that lead us to Mt Rushmore, the Space Needle, across the Golden Gate Bridge and Las Vegas, to name just a few of our stops. Travelling has been a dream come true, but as wonderful as each trip has been, it is always great to come home.
School

rave enough to admit my middle school and high school crush, but sadly I am not.
What is funny though, is my daughters first real boyfriend could have been his twin, which is scary for both her and I.
When my daughter is complaining about teachers, one of them being Senora Ruch, that taught at NEHI, but I never had as a teacher, I think of how little physics I learned in Mr. Fraze's class and how I could never get a question answered by Mr. Vera. But there were good ones too, like Mrs. Donnely, Mr. Werth and Mr. Cooper. I thought school was tough back the but it was nothing like what my kids are doing now.
Workplace
Since the fall of 1988 I have been a florist, working as a designer and then managing one shop for 7 years and another for the last ten. I love what I do and feel very lucky to work in a creative field that has allowed me to plan major events that included working with a celebrity chef, Robert Irvine from Food Network's "Dinner Impossible" this year. I have also had my work published on the cover of a couple of magazines, in magazines, in an ad for Publix, in newspapers, on TV and published a couple of articles about design and decor.
Reunion Planning
I have enjoyed planning our 20 year reunion. Being on the planning side is like having a preview reunion each week. I found Jenny Ray on this site and we actually met up in New Orleans the first week of June. So I have had my first "Haven't see you in 20 years moment" I recognized her instantly from 50 feet away. It was really great to catch up and spend the day with her and her daughter. She even brought a photo album(8th grade and freshman year) which my kids really enjoyed!!! All the people that have signed up on the nehi88 site have really made me feel like all the work has been worth it. I hope everyone continues to use the site to send messages to everyone and to reconnect.
