Catheran's Story
After graduating in 1971, I attended Baylor University in Waco for a few years and then went to UT Austin for a few more. Graduated Magna Cum Laude from UT in Nursing BS with Summa Cum Laude in Psychology BA. After working in Austin in hospitals for 2 1/2 years, I moved to Houston to work in heart surgery for 8 1/2 years. A career change was welcomed in 1989...Expand for more
with a move to Minneapolis/St. Paul to work for a heart valve manufacturer, St. Jude Medical. Then I moved back to Austin, Texas, in 1991 to work for another valve manufacturer, Carbomedics. Finally, I took my current position with On-X Life Technologies, Inc., in 1999 where I have remained. Working with heart valves has been a rewarding career for 20 years.
