Catherine's Story

Update: 01/14 Things remain the same. Probably will start looking for another place to live...San Diego or somewhere else...? Same home for 32 years. Spending lots of time with my Sweet Ciena (horse) who turns 10 this April. Also enjoying the many children in my life (children of friends) that I spend time doing fun activities with. Ryan was the first, he just turned 18. The youngest is 5 year old Madelyn. I love being around all for them. Moved to Boston after HS and then after nursing school moved around a bit ending up in San Diego in 1978. I then graduated with Masters in Marriage in Family therapy at University of SD. Currently working part time for County of San Diego screening children and adolescents for need for acute psychiatric hospitalization. Married 27 years to Michael an attorney who now also works part time. No children except for my 6 year old quarter horse Ciena. Spare time is currently spent horseback riding, boogie boarding, ocean swimming, having dinners...Expand for more
with friends, gardening, reading, watching movies, beading, and trying to grow old gracefully. 11/2012 update. Still living in San Diego. I will retire as of next month 12/22/12 after 17 years with the County of SD mental health services. So I get more time to play with my horse, I see her 6 days/week, swim in the ocean, get my garden in shape, and spend time with my husband. 04/09/2013 update: Now that I retired I seem busier than when I worked, but much more relaxed. Started to work as independent contractor to do mental health evaluations for school age children. Make my own hours and work as much and when I want. Celebrating 30th anniversary this month and going to Hawaii. 03/234/15 Not much has changed. Never did move out of the old house (built 1941) so lots of up keep. Still riding my horse although I have cut back some. Ciena will be 11 next month. I see her 5 to 6 times a week and ride about 4 times. Also cut back on my boogie boarding but love being in the ocean.
