Catherine's Story

My first job after high school was at Pentagon, where I got paid $2.50 to look busy. What I remember most about it was an older worker who practiced yoga and got me interested! After graduation from Va Tech I married and lived in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Calgary and New Orleans. I then got divorced, joined the navy for less than two years (I lived in Orlando, North Chicago and Williamsburg). The weirdest job I had was a temporary job at K-Mart demonstrating a wafflemaker. I have also been a substitute teacher, but the pay was better to be a receptionist so I took that route at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital and am now a library assistant at the medical library During my marriage I had two kids, Jason 30 and Suzie 29. They now have their own kids Collin 8(Jason)and Ella 18 months (Suzie). I now share my home with two cats, which keeps me on my toes with their antics. I try to dress like the 90s. Instead of the 80s like I used to last century! (That is what my daughter says!) I am now collecting vintage ...Expand for more
Villager clothes. I couldn't afford too many of them in the 60s, so now I am making up for it! Although a lot of them are the "modern Liz Claiborne" made more recently. Chill out Mom! (That is what my son Jason used to say in High School! Ha Ha. He kept my house loud with his desire to "hear the bass". Now he lives 60 miles away and can listen to it as loud as he wants! Yoga, and walking are my favorite ways to relax I hope old friends remember me as someone who was going through the growing up process with them while they were doing the same thing! I recently went out with my boyfriend from High School, Mike Everett. We got together at a funeral that we attended for his ex-father in-law in Quantico Va. It was a great military funeral. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Clare Saunders, because She was my best friend in elementary School. Update: I found out that Clare lives in Lexington VA and works at a library (same as me!). We hope to have a meeting sometime in the future.
