Catherine's Story

Life After High School I entered the work force as a general labourer with Palm Dairies. I met my future husband there and got married in 1989. In 1991 I had my first child( a son) named Kiefer. By 1995 I was seriously taking up the sport of competitive darts and represented Alberta twice at the Canadian Nationals in Toronto. By mid 1995 My marriage had completely broken down and I filed for divorce. My parents had moved back into the spruce Grove Area, and I started my new life staying with them. I dabbled in Real Estate and many other ventures always looking for something new.I resided in Spruce Grove from 1991 to 2006. In 1996 I met my signifigant other and have been together for nearly 12 years. I also had another Son (Austin) in 1999. My parents and I remained very close during these years and I ended up taking care of both of them on a full time basis. My mother was admitted to an Alzheimers facility in 2003, and my father passed away in 2006 with complications from respiratory failure/ heart failure. I still play competitive darts from time to time, being a ranked Canadian ...Expand for more
Player. In 2004 I opened a retail gaming store in the west end of Edmonton. we sold such games as "Magic the gathering" and Yu Gi Oh. We ran leagues and tournaments as well for dungeons and Dragons and Warhammer Miniatures. I closed the store down in 2006 as My father was ill and alone. During the recent Real Estate boom in 2006 in Edmonton, we decided that there really was no reason to stay in the area and sold our Spruce Grove home. I am currently living in Saskatoon with my common law husband and my two kids. I keep busy by playing violin and piano (when I have the time ) and by teaching school to my 16 year old and my 8 year old through home schooling. Before leaving Edmonton I had a chance to connect with someone from my past school days. I was invited to once again take up violin lessons with Mr. Richard Caldwell ( whom taught grade 6 music at Avonmore Elementary) Richard still plays with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. Unfortunately lessons were cut short with Ill parents, and my youngest sons Permanent health issues.I am now finally enjoying time at home with my own family.
