Catherine's Story
I haven't been to Menomonee Falls in a long time. Such a nice town, I imagine it has grown. When I was in high school I thought I would go to school, return to Menomonee Falls and live there the rest of my life. I went to nursing school in August of 1963, married in 1965 and graduated in 1966 from Lutheran Hospital in Milwaukee. I have worked full time in nursing since graduation and have had the opportunity for many interesting opportunities in management as well as clinical work. My husband, Denis, is an electrical engineer,(he graduated from MSOE). I married a nomad. We married in 1965 and have moved 33 times. We have been in Hawaii for the past eight years. We will be returning to the mainland US in the near future , probably relocating to the Atlanta area where two of our daughters live.
We have 4 children, currently 7 grandchildren and live on a horse farm on the Big Island of Hawaii. I raise and train Morgan horses. We breed Morgan horses and Morgan cross horses and believe me that takes a lot of time and energy.
(I just concluded my professional work life (well at least I think so) in November of this year.) Update: I actually just flunked retirement, returning to work as a nurse again. This time back to the operating room as a staff RN with the responsibility of Education for the OR/PACU.
Currently I am on the mainland about 6 times per year but usually I don...Expand for more
't have the opportunity to get to Wisconsin. Maybe someday.
I still am in touch with Patty Dolphin Engelking (her husband, Bruce just passed away in December), and Therese Johnson, Melodee and Lee Curtis but have lost track of almost everyone else. I would like to get in touch with Fran Schneider Becker if anyone knows where she is.
I have been on Classmates for a little over a year and really have enjoyed getting in touch with people. I wish everyone would put a picture on the site so that I could see them. I know we are all aging but that is cool too. There isn't anyone I haven't been able to recognize. The guys are harder though because of the beards.
Some of you may have known my brother Brad Dindorf. He died in 2002 after open heart surgery. We miss him very much.
This has been an interesting spring in some ways. I had rotator cuff surgery on March first and an intracranial bleed from a horse training with some yearlings who got confused and knocked me down in April. First time in my life to take a ride in an ambulance and not know I was going anywhere. But all is on the mend and I was able to begin driving last week and am going back to work on Wednesday of next week. It is so great to be alive! And a blessing to be healthy able to plan for the future again.
We are now getting ready to return to the mianland USA to be closer to family and friends. Aloha
